LBP Union Groups: Let’s Get It Together!

PlayStation Communities is shutting down in April 2021. You may be wondering what you can use instead to get groups of friends together to enjoy LittleBigPlanet. Read on to learn more about LBP Union Groups and how you can get started with a group today!

PlayStation Communities Shutdown

Since March 2020, PlayStation Communities has only been accessible through PlayStation 4 consoles.

PlayStation Communities is a service that is due to be terminated in April. It was a way for PlayStation users to organize into groups, form parties, as well as share messages and photos. LittleBigPlanet communities made using the service will be deleted soon.

In March 2020, Sony withdrew support for the PlayStation Communities app for Android and iOS smartphones. This prevented users from being able to create, manage, and interact with these groups while on the go. Since then, the only way to interact with communities was to use a PlayStation 4 console.

However, on April 14th, 2021, PlayStation Communities will be discontinued with no official replacement. Although an official service isn’t necessary to team up with groups of people, it’s certainly helpful and accessible for players who may not have access to tools like a smartphone or a PC.

With the recent LittleBigPlanet server outages and shutdown, we realized that something similar to PlayStation Communities could help bring energy to the LittleBigPlanet Community. So, we went ahead and did it!

LBP Union Groups is a feature we’ve recently introduced that allows you to create your own group that other members of the site can join. You get many of the same features as PlayStation Communities, as well as the ability to create events!

Why Create an LBP Union Group?

For starters, it’s a terrific way to find people with similar interests as you. You can use our platform to build a club, clan, creative studio, or even just a group that likes trying to ace LittleBigPlanet levels and get the highest scores.

It’s true that a Discord server can help, but you should also create an LBP Union Group to help you find new members and publicize your activity. Members can get informed about events via email, and you can share your creations in one place.

Group creators get valuable customization and administrative features so you can manage your group effectively. You can also appoint other group admins to help you keep things in order.

Something else that’s brand new to the site: feel free to share your group’s content and creations on our forum under the Showcase category!
