I can’t express how proud I am that the LittleBigPlanet community has persisted despite all the hardships we’ve faced these past almost four years. The fact that over 21,000 people use custom servers to share 19,000 levels and 47,000 photos with the world after the official shutdown is a testament to this community’s indomitable will to play, create, and share. LBP Union’s motto is Play, Create, Unite. This year, we’d like to zoom in on the Unite aspect of our mission by boosting opportunities for people of all skill levels and backgrounds to give back to and engage with the community. Here are some new changes that you might notice here on our Discord and some things to look forward to this year:
Discord Server Reputation System
We have a new role ranking system — the more you chat, the more roles you get! This is a new system powered by Tatsu bot that we call Reputation. Earn the Resident role to post images in LittleBigPlanet’s most popular text channel, #chat!
Volunteer Board
We have a new Discord server channel called #unite, where you can find opportunities to volunteer your skills for the community. This includes opportunities working directly with our team and other opportunities to contribute without joining. You can opt into the channel and a new Volunteer Announcement Role in Channels & Roles by clicking Unite and then the corresponding announcement role option. As always, you can also check our role listings page for team opportunities.
Tackling LittleBigPlanet’s Challenges, Together.
My personal New Years Resolution is to work toward bringing people together with the right talents to solve the LittleBigPlanet community’s most pressing challenges and threats. LBP Union isn’t a place for lines to be drawn in the sand. It’s a place where we can coordinate open-source solutions for everyone, and I hope you will share that resolution with me as we aim to secure the LBP community’s future with mitigating LBP’s RCE vulnerability and setting the groundwork for Project Lighthouse 2, both of which will benefit everyone, whether you are looking to host your own server or play on Beacon.
